One Practice. From Baby Teeth to Graduation.
At a separate pediatric office, your child eventually graduates and has to start over with a brand-new dentist they have never met. That handoff is exactly when a lot of teenagers drop out of regular care. A family dental home solves it.
-
Family block appointments.
Schedule kids and parents back-to-back so one trip handles the whole household.
-
Continuity of care.
The dentist who counted their first tooth is the same dentist who'll look at their senior-year wisdom teeth.
-
The end of starting over.
No new office, no new charts, no new awkward introductions every few years.
By the time your child is choosing their own appointments, they already know the chair, the staff, and the routine.
When Should You Bring Them In, and What Actually Happens?
We recommend the first visit around your child's first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth coming in. Earlier is better than later. The first visit isn't about heroics. It's about a calm introduction.
- 1
A short tour.
Your child meets the team and gets to look around. The chair becomes familiar before anyone touches a tooth.
- 2
A gentle count.
We count their teeth, look around the gums, and answer any of your questions about what's normal at their age.
- 3
A kid-paced polish.
If they're comfortable, a gentle cleaning. If they're not, we keep the visit short and build trust for next time.
- 4
No surprises.
Parents stay in the room. We use kid-friendly language and explain what we're doing as we go.
X-rays only when needed, and always with low-radiation, kid-safe digital technology. The goal is for your child to leave the office happy and ready to come back, not relieved that it's over.
A Dentist Who's Also a Dad
Dr. Brandon Mizner, DDS earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, graduating with High Distinction. He has been in practice for over a decade, with a clinical focus on prevention, conservative restorative care, and patient education.
He's also a Nebraska native, an Elkhorn community member, a husband, and a dad. He understands the chair from both sides.
- 1
Never rush. Your child sets the pace.
- 2
Never upsell. You'll only hear about treatment your child genuinely needs.
- 3
No surprise billing. Costs are explained upfront, before anything happens.
